Vermont's Covered Bridges

Victorian Village Rockingham
(a/k/a Depot) (Privately owned)
Harrison Chamberlain, 1872

Spanning an unnamed waterway adjacent to the Vermont Country Store on Route 103.

Dismantled in 1959 by the US Army Corps of Engineers, modified and rebuilt by Aubrey Stratton in 1967. Vrest Orton, founder of the Vermont Country Store, was chairman of the Vermont Historic Sites Commission at the time, and was instrumental in rescuing the bridge from a flood control dam/reservoir project in Townshend.
