ONE OFF? VTG Stevens Walden Wood Handle 1/8\" SQAURE DRIVER?! w/Drill Shank Bits
I can\'t find anything like this by Steven\'s Walden or any other tool maker for that matter.
There are identifying marks on the wooden handle I can clearly see 3186. And I believe that there is an \"X\" in front of the mumbers but that still doesn\'t pull up any info.
The driver receives a tiny Square 1/8\". It was found in this bag of odd shaped bits.
The bit post is inserted into the driver so that it catches on the square base, and drives the 1/8\" wide x 5/16\" long drill bit into (what?...i do not know). That leaves behind a 7/64\" wide x 7/16\" long post projecting from the material.
I want to say that I found this in a lot of upholstery tools? But I can\'t remember for sure, and don\'t hold me to that.
If you have any info or can point me to a comp i would be much ablidged.
The tool and bits are in near pristine conditon! But that would make sense since it was MADE in USA!!!
I I think it\'s hilarious that we were so eager to ship all of our manufacturing overseas to save a buck, but we\'re willing to pay up to find the old stuff that was made in America because it works! And it will keep working! (IMHO)
The tool itself has a fantastic weight and feel to the handle, and all the Chrome is intact. No wobble on the throat. It\'s a bit stubby at just over 5-1/4\". Outside diameter on the driver Shank is 5/16\"
The bits are included, which also feel quality made but have no markings. I\'m not going to count them but if I had a gun to my head I\'d say maybe 200? (I lied, i did count. Includes exactly 280 bits)
It\'s hard to make a price without any comps, but this seems like it would be pretty valuable to someone very specific or a collector maybe? Make me an offer.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any additional pics.
