Civil War Era Fireman Tintype Firefighter Antique Photograph Image :
$265.00
Wonderful Civil War period 1/6 platecased tintype of both a fireman, as well as a young couple who are probably related to him. Our fireman is wearing a shirt with a double row of cloth-covered buttons, and a light colored scarf or tie. Cradled in his arm is a great looking leather fire helmet! He also wears a leather belt and plate with a large \"S\" on it. This came out of Ohio, so he may have been a member of the Sandusky Fire Department. A tough image to find - don\'t let this one get away! Both images are seated in a thermoplastic case. While the hook is present, the hinge assembly is long gone, and it appears the spine has been repaired with proper tape.
The images remain in good condition, showing signs of age, use, and wear. The thermoplastic case itself shows average wear from use and storage. A repaired spine, as shown. The fireman image has a light crease-like dent - with no flaking or corrosion. Small scratch in the glass is evidentThe second image is fine with no visible issues. Please see the pictures for more detail.
