Benjamin A. Gifford Cabinet Photo ~ Handsome Gent \"Bedroom Eyes\" ~ Sullivan ILL:
$25.00
This listing is for a cabinet photograph of a handsome young gent with \"Bedroom Eyes.\" c.1880. Gifford Photography The Leader. Terrace Block. Sullivan Illinois. Excellent condition mounted on heavy stock. Measures: 6.5 x 4.25 inches. A real heart throb! This portrait was taken by the famous BENJAMIN A. GIFFORD (1859-1936) known for his photographs of the American West, the Columbia Gorge and the state of Utah. He was born in DuPage County, Illinois. It took me a while to connect the Gifford in this photograph with the famous one, but I found a photograph online of an American Indian with the same stylish \"Gifford\" logo that is on this photo. Although there is no mention of Benjamin Gifford living in Sullivan, he most certainly must have made a stop there at sometime in his early career. I believe this to be a portrait of Benjamin\'s brother...Dr. Anson Harvey \"Arthur\" Gifford.Photographs are considered part of the description and can be enlarged for better viewing.
