Though these chert / flint stonesmake excellent fire starters when struck with carbon steel, each rock is approximately 4" x 6", which makes them just right for knapping. These chert / flint rocks have not been heat-treated or processed in any way. Because this is a natural product, these stones may contain some cracks, fissures, inclusions or fractures. Chert and Jasper are the general name for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges. Flint is usually chert that is grey. The chert / flint stones you will receive will typically beyellow to reddish brown inside.FREE SHIPPING in the United States.
