Rare Large Zinc Carousel Horse, 18th Century from the F.R. Goodrich Estate, Hartford, Conn. This is made from zinc and has been tested by an expert - it is not aluminum or magnesium. This horse is a 2-part casting of zinc and been fused together. The date of this piece by F. R. Goodrich, Hartford, Conn. goes back to 1718 and is on your computer - there might be a providence on this piece (it is lost and we are looking for it) This is the largest metal carousel horse I have ever seen and I did a lot of research. From the front hoof to rear hoof is 39\" - From the head to rear hoof is 41\" - from the girth to top of saddle is 10\" - from the head to tail is 36\" - It stand off the floor to top of head 34\" - There are 2 original stars on saddle with original paint - Where the pole goes through the horse looks like there was an original pole that went through it and show in the casting - it still has some original paint. The stand and pole is not original - it looks like it was added. I think this was an original rocking horse at one time or a pull-cart of some sort (I don\'t know). From the floor to the top of the ball is 54\" - the widest part of the horse are the rear hoofs which is 13\" - the front hoofs are 11\". There is still some original paint. The pole is galvanized pipe.
This piece would have to be picked up
