$150.00
Autographed postcard photograph on the verso by the famous Czech man who was born without arms.
Filip (1904-1957) was known as \"the armless Frantik\". Despite his handicap he learned how towrite, draw, sew, saw, write and drive a car with his feet. Unfortunately, or fortunately his
handicap was used to trot him around the world, where in 1923 he went to America where he performed at Carnegie Hall, met President Warren G. Harding and drove a car for Henry Ford.
He apparently was also a master puppeteer and would sing in a choir. Filip was supposedly always dressed to the 9\'s and was married twice. He owned a popular art shops and also wrote
several books based upon his life experiences. Later he left Prague and set up shop in Brno opening an ice cream parlor and also an advertising and song writing shop which were initially
great successes until the Communists moved in and nationalized everything. The cause of his death at 33 is unknown. All this said, he was held up as an example of a man who overcame
his handicaps.
