The ZenithConcord Model 22H699 Console AM, SW, FM and Phonograph
The 22H699 radio has 22-tubes and is a two chassis unit,with two 12” full range speakers and one 6” mid-high frequency speaker. ItMicrostatic FM, Consol-Tone,Radiorgan,Wavemagnet, built-in Shortwave antenna, Outer Circle R. F. circuit andreal tuning meter. The lower chassis contains a 6-tube power amplifier, 4-6A3tubes for push-pull parallel 50Watt full range audio and 2-6A3 push-pull 10Wattmid-hi amplifier. The lower power amplifier chassis and receiver chassis haveindependent power supplies. The lower chassis also has an FM oscillatortransmitter for extension speakers. The receiver has both AM broadcast band andFM preset push-button tuning. It plays beautifully on all bands and the recordchanger is time period correct and works well. trhis was the last high-end radio Zenith built, it sounds better than the 1000z Stratosphere model.
The receiver and amplifier have been fully restored, alltubes tested and bad ones replaced, all capacitors and resistors tested andreplaced and all rubber insulated warring has been replaced. This console oncehad a back, it has been long lost.
The 22H699 is 40” high, 42.5” wide and 21” deep, it weighsover 100 pounds. The cabinet is solid, no loose joints, the finish is in okaycondition and could use refinishing, there is no loose veneer, it is on largecastors and can be moved easily.
