His Business ventures in Bozeman were so successful that he became the town's first millionaire. Gallatin , a siding/railroad spur was named for Nelson Story who drove the first herd of Texas Cattle into Montana in 1866 bringing them into Gallatin Valley where Fort Ellis was later located.
