On offer here is an ORIGINAL VELLUM LAND DEED SIGNED BY COLONIAL PHILADELPHIA MAYOR BENJAMIN SHOEMAKER. The land deed relates John Fell of Buckingham County, PA and Jacob Shoemaker of Philadelphia for property in Philadelphia.
The large document measures 32 in wide x 14.25 in tall. There are several fold separations as shown and a lower left corner loss affecting perhaps 2-3 signatures of the 10 visible. Benjamin Shoemaker, the mayor of Philadelphia has signed the document twice (both with wax seals).
A fine, early and very displayable colonial era deed signed by an important figure in Philadelphia history.
