Windsor-Cornish Covered Bridge, Windsor, Vermont
Windsor-Cornish Windsor
James F. Tasker & Bela J. Fletcher, 1866
Town Lattice, 465′ spanning Connecticut River off Route 5, Windsor village. Two lanes, 34 feet wide, two spans of 203 and 204 feet. It is the longest wooden bridge in the US and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. The fourth bridge at this crossing, it was a toll bridge until 1943.
Because the state line is at the western shore of the river, this bridge is actually in New Hampshire, and only “touching” Vermont.
