Antique handwritten Hyde family record for the family of Alba Hyde and Henrietta Chandler Hyde of Canterbury, Connecticut. Measures approximately 7.5 x 6.75 inches.

The front is headed “Children of Alba and Henrietta Hyde” and records the births of their children from 1804 through 1826. Names include Henrietta, George, Almira, Emeline, Edward, Louisa, Susan, Andrew, Albigense, Silas, Elizabeth and Isaac Hyde. Additional family entries include Harvey and Edith Hyde.

Research identifies Alba Hyde as a son of Isaac Hyde and the husband of Henrietta Chandler. The names and dates appearing on this manuscript correspond closely with genealogical records for the family. Alba Hyde died February 25, 1834.

The reverse was used as an ongoing family death record and includes entries for Alba Hyde, Henrietta Hyde, Andrew Hyde, Edward Hyde, George Hyde, Almira Hatch, Elizabeth Hyde, and later members of the Bradford family. Entries were clearly added at different times and in different hands, making this an interesting multi-generation family genealogy document.
