James H.W. Thompson aka Jim Thompson was a Princeton educated American architect and art collector who settled in Bangkok after serving as a military officer in World War II. He directed the Ballet Russe, was intrigued by Thailand art and culture, with a special interest in Thai silk. The brand remains in existence today. Please contact me with any questions.
