Rare VTG Early GTC Emma Bridgewater Sponge Ware Mug Summer Fruits c1990's - MINT:
$37.00

This listing is for (1) one early rare and unique Emma Bridgewater Sponge-ware Mug. The Summer Fruits pattern was made during the 1990's featuring strawberries, cherries, red currants and bees on a cream background. The leaf design extends over the top edge into the interior of the mug adding to it's artistic beauty. Each mug was produced for GTC (General Trading Company) a luxury boutique department store located in London's Sloane Square District. When Emma Bridgewater first started experimenting with hand-sponged pottery in1985, she sent sample designs directly to a small group of luxury retail buyers. The GTC (alongside Liberty and Harrods) immediately recognized her talent and placed the massive initial orders that launched her business. Because of the close, early relationship the GTC commissioned exclusive, custom-marked batches from Emma Bridgewater's Stoke-on-Trent factory during the early 1990s. (See Photos of GTC Bridge Stamp on base). Each mug is handmade and hand painted measuring 3 3/4" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter. Capacity is 8 oz.
Ships from pet and smoke free home. Will honor multiple item discount and combine shipping if multiple mugs are purchased at the same time.
