Thissale is for a *RARE* store advertising sign/tray that has "HORNEMAN-COSSEY COMPANY -- DANVILLE, ILLINOIS" on it. This business was known for their ice cream and advertised in publications like High School Yearbooks; etc. This would have been a store display; or given to a customer as an advertising sign to hang on the wall; or use as a tray for delivering items like Root Beer Floats to customers/guests. I've been collecting Danville area advertising collectibles for many years; and have never seen another tray like this one here.
