Early 19th Century English Tunbridge Ware Glove Box
Circa 1820–1840
Fine Regency-period Tunbridge ware glove box in figured rosewood veneer with micro-mosaic inlaid border. The lid features a central oval medallion depicting two women in period dress, rendered in contrasting wood inlay on a dark ground.
Classic early Tunbridge construction with delicate geometric tesserae banding around the perimeter. Interior is original and unlined, with simple brass hinges and working latch (no key present).
10.5" wide 4" deep 3" tall
Good antique condition with honest age-related wear. Minor veneer loss at one rear corner and small edge chips consistent with age. Structurally solid. Interior clean and original.
