Brookfield CD 162.1 – Emerald Green – Sharp Inward Drip Points – Backward “7”:
$69.99
Striking emerald green Brookfield CD 162.1 with thedesirable inward‑pointing sharp drip points and a full set of characterfeatures that make this piece stand out in any signal lineup.
This example has excellent visual interest throughoutthe glass, including:
- Embossed "Brookfield" on front, and "New York" on rear
- Four or five occlusions (light and dark slag bits) adding character, texture and depth (see photos)
- The classic backward “7” on the crown
- 4-5 tooling marks made when the signal insulator was still hot (particularly nearBROOKFIELDand in the upper wire rim
- Streaks of amber running up and into the crown from above the “FIE” of BROOKFIELD
- Wrinkles in the glass of the crown directly above the “B” ofBROOKFIELDthat catch light beautifully AND create a simple, sort of caricature profile of either a sphynx or a male African lion looking to your left (no, I’m not high, look at the photos 😉)
- Other wrinkles inside and out, that may look like cracks but are from the molding and annealing process
- Two chips in the upper wire rim that appear to have occurred soon after removal from the mold and while hot (hard to explain)
Color is a clean, bright emerald green, and displays extremely well innatural light and backlit setups. I included photos with a "Hemingray blue"Hemingray #19, and a dark olive Brookfield, with the intent of showing the true emerald green. All of my photos look great on my phone but not my laptop. I am hopeful that you are seeing the color clearly.
No cracks or structural issues. All noted flaws are typicalmanufacturing or edge‑impact points and do not affect stability or shelfappeal. The more I examine the piece, the more interesting it becomes – little textured, tooling marks impressed into it while it was hot (particularly around the upperrim and above and to the right of the “D”ofBROOKFIELD… it is a very slight “ovoid” shape front toback, discernible when viewed from below… a truly fun insulator!
A great choice for collectors who appreciate characterglass, unusual mold behavior, and standout color.
