Antique Victorian Cornish Serpentine Stone Vase Red & Green Lizard Cornwall 14cm:
$49.36

An authentic, beautifully turned antique Cornish Serpentine stone vase dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Handcrafted from the unique metamorphic rock found natively on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, England.
This is a remarkably heavy and substantial piece for its size, weighing in at nearly 1.5 kg. It features the highly desirable deep red or burgundy ground stone, intricately interlaced with striking web-like veins of sage green, grey, and cream. The classic flared rim and pedestal foot showcase the traditional craftsmanship of historic Cornish stone-turners.
Condition Report:
Please note there is a notable chip on the top edge of the flared rim (clearly shown in the close-up photographs). However, due to the shape of the vase, this can easily be turned to the rear for display, making the chip completely invisible from the front. Otherwise, the stone retains a beautiful polished gloss finish with only minor surface age wear consistent with its antiquity. No major structural cracks.
Please study all photos carefully to satisfy yourself regarding the condition before offerding.
Shipping:
Due to the heavy weight of this item (1.47 kg unpacked), it will be securely wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and boxed to ensure safe transit. Sent via tracked delivery same or next day.
