1905 B.A. Gifford Columbia River Views 11 Photo Set Oregon Original Envelope:
$143.88

Scarce early B.A. Gifford Columbia River Views “Snap Shot Series” published by Benjamin A. Gifford of The Dalles, Oregon.

This grouping includes 11 of the original 12 black-and-white scenic views, along with the original illustrated series envelope. Each photograph/view measures approximately 7.5" x 5" and has a blank back.

Scenes depict historic Oregon and Columbia River Gorge locations, including Mt. Hood, Celilo Falls, Latourelle Falls, Cape Horn, Bridge of the Gods/Cascades area, Columbia River steamboats, waterfalls and other early Pacific Northwest scenery.

Several images carry B.A. Gifford's name and early copyright dates within the image, including 1901 and 1905 examples.

The original envelope identifies the set as:

“The Gifford Snap Shot Series – Columbia River Views”

Published by Benj. A. Gifford, The Dalles, Oregon

PLEASE NOTE: This is an incomplete set containing 11 of the original 12 views. One view is missing. The original envelope is included and shows expected age-related wear, edge losses/tears and handling. The individual views display very nicely overall for their age. Please examine all photographs for exact condition.

A desirable early Oregon photographic/printed view series associated with noted Pacific Northwest photographer Benjamin A. Gifford, especially appealing with the rarely retained original publisher's envelope.
