Original 1867 warranty deed documenting the transfer of real estate in East Montpelier, Washington County, Vermont. Measures approximately 8.5 x 14 inches and is printed on an official Ballou, Loveland & Co., Montpelier, Vermont deed form with extensive handwritten manuscript entries.

The deed records the conveyance from George M. Town and Reta L. Town of East Montpelier to Austin J. Foster for $600, dated July 19, 1867. The document concerns property in East Montpelier, including Lot No. 46 and references to the Levi Templeton farm, with a lengthy legal description of the land. It is signed by the grantors, witnessed, notarized, and bears the Town Clerk\'s recording endorsement on the reverse dated July 20, 1867.

A particularly attractive feature is the original Civil War-era U.S. Internal Revenue documentary stamps affixed across the center: two 50-cent blue stamps and one $1 red stamp, all hand-canceled.

Condition is good overall for its age, with expected fold lines from original filing, light toning, minor edge wear, a small separation at one fold intersection, and remnants of an old paper seal or repair at the lower right. The reverse contains filing information and recording notation. Please review all photographs for complete condition and content.

Authentic period piece related to family, historyor local heritage - well-suited for historical collections, genealogical /genealogy research, or museum acquisition.Vintage or Antique.
