Historical 1809 New Hampshire Land Deed – Tucker & Sanborn Families
Up for sale is an original handwritten land deed dated June 15, 1809, executed in Poplin, Rockingham County, New Hampshire (now Fremont). This early 19th-century legal document records the transfer of ten acres of land from Huldah Tucker, widow and administratrix of the estate of Benjamin Tucker, to Ebenezer Sanborn, a member of one of New Hampshire’s most prominent early families.
The deed describes the parcel as being bounded by the lands of Jonathan Brown, John Hoyt, and Ebenezer Sanborn, situating it within the early farming community of Poplin. The consideration was $105, a significant sum for ten acres at the time.
