Vintage US Woodbury Co. Celluloid Scales Straight Razor SHAVE READYBeautiful straight razor 9/16, 1/4 hollow, square nose, 1.20oz weight, polished completely until we obtained a nice mirror finish, with celluloid scales, brand new pivot pin.
This razor was stropped and hanging hair tested various times through the entire edge, to make sure it will be shave ready. We sanitized it, and applied a thin layer of mineral oil to avoid any corrosion during transit, be aware of that before use. It will be carefully packaged before shipping. We are a detailed oriented team, and we want your total satisfaction with the product that you purchased.
Our goal is to show as many qualities or flaws with the photos that we published. We don't enhance or use Photoshop in our photos, just a few adjustments to light exposure or cropping. Be aware that we deal mostly with vintage items that have already passed the rigorous conditions of time. Most of these razors were left without protection for years in cabinets or who knows where, without the ideal care that they needed, producing rust, scratches, pitting, etc. Most of the blades that we restore are not stainless steel (and even stainless steel needs care), so go figure out all the flaws that will have, that is impossible to do justice with photos, until you are able to see them with your own eyes.
On the other hand, if the blade has a clear defect, we disclose it in our description first, and secondly we take a close up photo or photos of the condition.
We describe our items with honesty, but if you have any concerns or questions contact us before offerding. Please don't get false expectations that these items even after a careful and detailed restoration will look brand new.
We assume that most of our customers know about the care of these vintage items, like having the skill to do a good stropping before every one or two shaves, depending on the type of beard that they have. Personally we strop our blades and perform the hanging hair test before every shave.
We encourage beginners to purchase our razors, but before that, get the right information first. There are a lot of forums and YouTube videos that you'll need to read and watch to make the decision if straight razor wet shaving is for you.
Again if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re happy to provide tips on how to preserve the edge of your razor and advice about wet shaving.
Thanks for your future purchase, enjoy your razor and we expect your positive response and comments about it.
