VINTAGE 1960s PAOLI LOCAL RESTAURANT GLASS ASHTRAY- STRAFFORD, PA, Railroadiana:

This is a wonderful piece of memorabilia from the Main Line of Philadelphia. The Paoli Local was the first suburban train developed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Paoli Local ran west from Phila. to Paoli, the end of the line. It was called the Main Line because it was the beginning of the main line trackage from New York to Chicago. This ashtray measures 4-1/16" in diameter. I initially thought this was from the trains, but realized it was from a restaurant called "The Paoli Local" located in Strafford, PA, one of the stops on the local.
I photgraphed the ashtray on a white and a green background to bring out the design. You can see that the black ink ran when they made this.
Come on, all you Main Line buffs and residents! A must have.
