Here's a lovely signed and dated Gullah, Charleston, South Carolina sweetgrass display, trinket or egg basket with 2 loops and handles. Signed Michael Smalls, 2017.Measures approx 11 1/4 inches across from handle to handle and approx 3 inches tall and approx 7 1/2 inches wide. The varied colors of the sweetgrass provide a very attractive contrast. Sturdy and firm, in very good condition. There is a small area of unwrapped coils which is typical for this type of basketry as shown in the photos. A well made and lovely display piece, heavy and firm.Please see all photos.
