Home Cure for Stammerers by George Andrew Lewis, hardcover, blue cloth gilt lettering, 1st edition 1907 is a reference guide for people with speech impediments. Lewis self-published his books after being unsuccessful in finding a publisher who would take on such a project. That independence drove Lewis to start a school for speech impediment in Detroit Michigan. His books are still published today. The book suffers water damage, though the thick almost card stock paper helped to limit it. This being his first edition, it has been republished seven times, 1907 to 2010. It is a rare copy and overall graded as good condition and priced accordingly.Good Condition. Blue cloth over boards, gilt text, shelf wear on bottom cover corner, spotting on cover and spine, though minor, GC. Pages are thick stock, almost card stock, tanning with age, binding is very good, water damage, owner signed name on bottom page edges, very readable, GC. 1st Ed. 1907. Author: George Andrew Lewis.
