The original statue was created between 1871-1874 and was unveiled in 1875 for the centennial celebration of the Battle of Concord. It was 7 feet tall and was created out of brass and cast using 10 Civil War-era cannons appropriated by Congress.
The statue depicts a young man with his overcoat thrown over his plow and a large gun in his hand, stepping away from his plow to join the Patriot forces at the Battle of Concord in 1775. The Minute Men were expected to drop what they were doing and be ready to go to battle with only a moments notice.
This mixed holiday lot comes with two matching wells and a free pen with 3 tips to include a speedball A-1 calligraphy tip. The inkwells have been included in the price.
