$38.00
This Bennington Pottery Toby mug was made in 1870. It is unbranded, but it is a documented design from Bennington Pottery in Bennington, VT. It also has a brown mottled Rockingham glaze. This jug features an 18th-century Colonial Patriot with a tri-cornered hat. This gives the jug its spout and the other corners to drink from. He is holding a mug of ale and a pipe. The man has a mustache and an 18th-century wig. It has a good weight as it is made from stoneware. The jug measures 6" tall, 4 3/4" at its widest. The base diameter measures 2 3/4". The bottom has a Bennington trademark of the concave or "kick- up" base. The handle is on the backside and has a thumb rest. There are a couple of production mars which I will have pics of. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. It has a high gloss and is in excellent condition. *the high gloss distorted some of the pics. If they are squiggly lines, they are the distortion. If you require more pics, I would be happy to accommodate.
