International buys welcome.The 1946 film “The Razor's Edge” was based on the 1944 novel of the same name written by W. Somerset Maugham and tells the story of an American pilot who is traumatized by his experiences from World War I. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Clifton Webb) and Best Art Direction (Black & White) but it was Anne Baxter who took home the award presented by Lionel Barrymore as Best Supporting Actress. The movie starred Tyrone Power, Gene Tierney and Herbert Marshall with famed artist Norman Rockwell creating the film’s poster. The film proved to be not only a critical success, but box office one as well.Presented here is very unique opportunity to own an Academy Award. This 13-inch-tall statue has a 5-inch diameter base and carries significant weight for its size. A gold-colored band wraps halfway around the base and has engraved “ACADEMY AWARD TO ANNE BAXTER BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN THE RAZOR’S EDGE”. The back of the base has a small gold-colored plate that has engraved “ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES 1946”. Below that plate on the bottom edge is an even smaller plate that reads “MANUFACTURED UNDER WORLD RIGHTS GRANTE BY ADADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS & SCIENCES TO DODGE INC TROPHIES-LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA”. This award at one point was broken at the feet but very well re-attached. There are areas of the gold finish that is missing especially to the right pectoral and adjacent to break and feet.
