- To: Rejoice Newton of Worcester MA - b.1782-1868 - was an attorney and state rep - very active in Worcester MA in his time. Newton Hill and Newton Square were apparently named for him. His land apparently has a connection to African American history with his farm listed online as part of a Black history trail, having had slave Isaac Mason as a former slave who escaped. (Info gathered online may or may not be 100% accurate)
- From: Samuel Wood of Grafton MA - this is thought to probably be the man who started the Grafton Inn in 1805 and was a shoe manufacturer
- Contents: Meeting about the Holland estate, unable to attend due to "snow was so deep" - he says to write to him at Boston care of N.H.? Brigham
- Embossed: D & J Ames, Springfield (this was David & John Ames' paper company in Springfield Mass)
