John Turner (b.19 Jan 1771, Montville, CT; 30 Oct 1858, Colchester, CT). Turner was an investor in New LondonWhaling enterprises.
A reference is made to theeconomic situation leading up to the Panic of 1837. Due to various factors, New York bankswere raising interest rates and scaling back on lending.
