About Quechee, Vermont [Top] Village in the town of Hartford, Windsor County Coordinates (Geographic Center): N 72° 25' W 43°38' Altitude: 580 feet ASL Census Info: County  State From the Natick (and current) name for the river which flows through the village, Ottauquechee, aptly "a swift mountain stream." In 1855 the post office was changed from "Quechee Village" to "Queechy", then to its current spelling in 1868.
