Wells Fargo Stagecoach 20 foot Pyrographic Wall Mural Solid hickory Plank Signed:
$19,500
PYROGRAPHIC......Image carved out by hand then enhanced by charring or burning with a torch....... Originally commissioned and crafted by Oregon Artist Robert S.Wallace in 1970 for Wells Fargo Bank. Was displayed in downtown Los Angeles Branch through mid 1980's. Total length of this piece is 20 feet. The Medium for this piece is solid 8 foot long, 4 inch wide hickory planks with the entire Wells Fargo Stage coach and full team of horses carved into the planks and then accented with the additional art of wood burning. There is only one existing as far as we know and Mr.Wallace is deceased. Acquired in 1995 by Charlotte's in the Country Antiques of Ramona, CA. and displayed on the back wall of the main gallery of this 100 year old 5000+ square foot building located in San Diego County's back country on the tourist trail leading to legendary mining town Julian CA and on into the famous 600,000 acre ANZA-BORREGO desert State park. So many of you showed such great interest in purchasing this piece over the last 20 years but we have declined to offer it as it was one of the center pieces of the store along with the store along with the full size gazebo and vast "vintage and high fashion" clothing selection. May 21st 2014 was the first day of our 21st year in business but we would prefer to retire as we have other aspirations. Therefore the wall is now for sale for the fair price of $19,500 which includes packing and shipping to the lower 48. I will consider shipping this item anywhere but that will be at your expense. I really hate to even think of it leaving the country. Imagine this piece displayed at a Ski Area, a Restaurant or a Bar...perhaps a Casino or better yet at your own private back country ranch. The item does NOT suffer from any serious condition issues but some of the planks have minor splitting issues on each end from mounting and removing it. When remounting the item which should be done by a finish carpenter and framing the entire perimeter, any issues that I am eluding to will not be visible or an issue. I would be happy to provide additional photos to a serious buyer but these issues are NOT something that devalues this piece....they just need to be disclosed. If you are aprehensive at all about this item, have someone come and inspect it or just don't buy it. IT IS JUST AS I AM DESCRIBING IT but I do not want to play any games with purchaser. We have been a seller on now for 20 years and have 100% positive response....and would prefer to keep it that way. Thank You for looking!!
