Vintage Unused Unique 1960s Dorset Rex Fifth Avenue Gold Basket Weave Carry All:

This carryall comes from the house of Dorset Rex Fifth Avenue & is part of their iconic basket weave range. This one is a little unique in that I have not been able to find one that has the hard handle & red lined two compartment interior. The common ones on the market have the cigarette case on one side & a fixed powder compact on the other with a chain handle.
This lovely piece has only one exterior opening that reveals a red/burgundy interior with a concealed compartment underneath a removable (unused) powder compact & lipstick holder. The lid has an elastic pouch underneath the Dorset Rex Fifth Avenue logo. The lipstick doesn’t appear to have ever held any lipstick & the compact appears unused. To the other end of the interior is another strap that may be there to hold something else in the range or perhaps something of the owners choosing.
The exterior shows some signs of age related wear & scratches from storage but it doesn’t detract from the appeal of this collectable.
Overall this is a unique piece perfect for collectors.
It measures 15cm long & 8cm high. The carryall is 3cm in width & all hinges and catches work as they should.
