Here is a Really Neat MARSHFIELD MOTORS, CHEVROLET OLDSMOBILE License Plate Frame from the 1950s. It has a nice patina, & displays pretty nicely. The age has caused some flaking but looks nice. It does not lay down flat, read my condition section on a possible fix for that? One thing to keep in mind: License plate bolt hole sizes are all over the board. The 1961 Truck Plate that I have in one of the pictures (WHICH DOES NOT SELL IN THIS LISTING) fits the holes on the bottom, but not the top. You are probably more likely to find plates that fit from the 50s, but not all will fit, I have some 1955s that will not fit. The measurements between the center of the holes for width is 7 1/8." There is a little wiggle room as the holes are elongated a little and 7 1/2" would work on it. If you just want a good old plate to fit it, you can find one with a little search, I have several that fit. My guess is you would be pretty hard pressed to find one that would fit all 4 holes though, my 61 Truck does not match it at the top, I doubt if many or very few did even when it was new.
