Viennese long running duration floor clock project @ 1800. I'm saying Viennese, but I'm not sure. It could also be French. This is a very interesting clock that is being presented in as found condition needing a lot of work. It is a very thin and attractive case which really has a great look measuring 85 1/2" tall x 13" wide x 8" deep. It consists of a top piece with the movement, and a trunk. The trunk is in relatively good condition. The top piece is literally in pieces, needing a lot of restoration. Most of the pieces appear to be present, but there may be some smaller pieces missing. The case is walnut with ebony trim. It has very intricate moldings with ebony and brass wrapped around wood to make a contrasting brass and ebony look. The finish is so dirty now, that this can't really be noticed. The 8 1/2" diameter porcelain dial has damage as shown in the photos. Interesting winding hole position just below the numeral 12. Amazing original engraved and gilded brass hands. The movement is very interesting. It appears to be of a very long running duration with 6 wheels in the gear train including the great wheel and the escape wheel. There are 2 pulleys remaining, so the weight must have been very heavy and at least double compounded. The movement has knife edge suspension and dead beat escapement. Great clock with a lot of potential. Please see the photos attached for the complete description, and ask any questions you may have. No weight or pendulum. . Shipping
