Antique Beautiful Quality Victorian Tunbridge Ware Inkwell Stand. 1860's
This is a stunning antique inkwell stand of good proportions in stunning Rosewood and mixed woods.C.1860's in date approx.
The stand is typical Tunbridge Ware with a mosaic effect tesserae.A stunning array of flowers and geometric forms with bands of stunning flowers and various very fine detail.
The main body is veneered in Rosewood.The top has a pair of stamp/nib pots with original lift of lids.
A single original inkwell pot with flip back lid, there is a tiny nibble to the side of the glass but is only surface.
There is a pen rest at rear with original pen also covered in Tunbridge Ware with removable nib.
Excellent polish and no loses to Tunbridge Ware or any timbers can be seen in superb well maintained condition. Just wax it from time to time with a quality wax paste to protect it.
This box is attributed to the world famous Henry Hollamby / Thomas Barton made in his workshops in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
There is a collection of Tunbridge Ware in the Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery in Tunbridge Wells.
