AGRussell.com:
“The Randall Model 1 Fighter was one of the first models produced in the Randall Shop in Orlando. A Model 1, made by Bo Randall, served as the prototype for the Springfield Randall that was manufactured by Northampton Cutlery Company near Springfield, Massachusetts in1943 and 1944. The Randall Model 1 became one of the favored fighting knives of WWII and continues to be one of their most popular. It has been copied by most handmade knifemakers at some point in their career, and sometimes by knife manufacturers as well.”

Knife lovers: This is a complete, fully original, and superb, Randall Model I package. As a second owner, I am pleased to offer it to a new caretaker and, upon request, the original owner history (my grandfather) to its future knife was a part of the estate of Norval Grigg, my grandfather.
Norval was born in 1905 and passed in 1997, he was a lifetime resident of Seattle and a Boeing employee from 1931 to his retirement in 1977.
Early in his life, Norval Grigg enjoyed, and was deeply involved with mountaineering – this was the pastime of he and is best friends, and where he met my grandmother, Edna Turner.Norval was also very interested in photography and owned a significant number of important Leica cameras, no more so than Leica I Luxus #34814. Norval was a true connoisseur of the finest quality products and equipment. He states just that is his comment to author Malcom Bates in the Cascade Voices publication, Chapter 3. Norval had several camp knives including a Scagel, but this Randall knife was purchased later in his life, with likely little intention of camping with it.
Norval Grigg is listed within the following publications:
THE MOUNTAINEERS, A HISTORY
Published by the Mountaineers, Jim Kjeldsen First edition 1998
Please see pages 32, 39, 40 & 50, referencing both Norval Grigg and my grandmother Edna Turner and her first husband, Gil Erickson.
