Simon Willard Lighthouse Clock Vintage Reproduction
This is a faithful vintage 20th century reproduction of a Simon Willard Lighthouse clock.
It has a time only eight-day brass movement with passing hour strike on a bell with turned brass finial, brass-faced pendulum and powered by an associated lead weight.
The slightly convex brass dial is engraved Simon Willard ROXBURY. It features Roman numerals that mark the hours and barbed steel hands that are beautifully made.
The hand built wooden case stands on three brass ball feet. The base section is constructed in the form of an octagon with a removable door at the rear to access the pendulum. A turned molding transitions the octagon form up to a tapered circular waist section which is fitted with a gold coloured ormolu mount in the form of a victory wreath.
The top of the clock is fitted with a glass dome which is removable to gain access the movement and dial. (please examine all pictures carefully as they form part of the item description)
* It is my guess that this clock was made 50 - 100 years ago.
Overall Dimensions: Height 30” (to the top of the finial on glass dome) Width/Depth 9-1/4” (all measurements approx)
Condition: The clock is in good working condition. There is some pitting to the movement backplate (see pic 8). The crutch may have been repaired or modified (see pic 6). The case has some minor wear, losses and shrinkage consistent with age. (please examine all pictures carefully as they form part of the item description)
