Ok folks I just didn\'t know what had been laying around for 20 years that simple. I traded for this and it sat in the closet until I was doing a cleaning.
Major General Coryton M Woodbury was not brought to long term fame from winning 4 silver stars, Bronze Star and purple heart as an on the ground Tank Commander in the Italian WWII campaign.
Nope C M Woodbury was the muscle that was brought on site to silence the RAAF firemen who reportedly recovered the Roswell alien Crash site.
In Fact NO ONE spoke of the incident until after his death. The hardened general was best friends with the colonel in all the pictures and was Roswell\'s City Manager at the time. He was nicked named the IRON GENERAL
His name is mentioned in many books as he played a role in more than one historical event in the states and overseas.
The fact is his direct tie to the 1951 Roswell Alien Crash makes this one of the only antiques that has any provenance to the site. He is mentioned the book Witness to Roswell
CM woodbury is also a graduate of Virginia Military institute and is the hall of fame for the NMMI

A graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Woodbury came to Roswell in 1932 to serve as teacher and coach at the New Mexico Military Institute. With a master\'s degree in civil engineering, Woodbury would serve as city manager of Roswell for 18 years before coming to Farmington. City Clerk Joy Harris said Woodbury came here T^en the city was greatly in need of his expertise and that he served Farmington and its citizens well. Floyd Davis was mayor at the time, and A. J. Vasilakis had served as a forerunner to Woodbury as an administrative assistant or town manager. Former Mayor Davis, who called Woodbury \"the greatest,\" said he had kept in contact with the former city manager over the years and had last seen him only a couple of weeks ago. After his retirement as city manager in February 1976, Woodbury stayed on with the city for some months as a utility consultant. Former City Manager Richard Gray succeeded him. \"We were friends before I came to the council,\" said Culpepper. Woodbury was described as a \"wealth of information.\" The mayor said Woodbury also was \"one of the finest soldiers under (Gen. George) Patton\'s command.\" Woodbury\'s retirement from the military came in June 1965. Funeral services are pending at the Cope Memorial Chapel. Woodbury is survived by his widow, Lucille, and a son, Cory, of Roswell.
