An early square pontiled Dr.Jaynes Tonic Vermifuge with two of the sunken panels having squiggle decorations...DR.D.JAYNE'S / TONIC / VERMIFUGE / PHILADA boldly emb around bottle on 4 sunken panels....Open Pontil....square...aqua...4 5/8"tall...it has had the flared lip completely chipped off so that it almost looks like a sheared lip bottle; no other damage. A dug bottle with haze. This is the earliest variant of Tonic Vermifuge bottle from the 1840s. By the 1850s they were using oval bottles with all the embossing on front panel.....
