New Orleans Fire Dept Engine 11 "Death To Fire" Commemorative Challenge Coin NEW:
$10.00
Next up in our series is a new design to comminate the memory of a truly great fire company here in the City, Station 11 was never reopened after the floods of Hurrican Katrina in2005, and so is gone is the history of a truly great Company. Station 11 once stood as a 2 bay station located on Louisiana Ave housing Engine 11, Ladder 10, and District Chief 304. Back in the 80's the Ladder was moved and eventually put out of service; The District Chief was also put out of service due to reorganization of the fire districts, but Engine 11 remained as one of the busiest fire companies, led by it's most loyal Captain "Chuck" Brockmeyer, or known just as "Brock". When the station closed due to Katrina flooding in August 2005, and Engine 11 was relocated to another station, the sad news came a few months later that the station was too damaged to repair, and the "kiss of death" that Engine 11 would be disbanded due to lower population returning to the City. Captain "Brock" decided he did not want to work anywhere else, so he quietly retired, remembering the great days of a great Company. The challenge coin is designed in a black silver metal, size is 1.85" and the gray paint in the skull is glow in the dark. I truly hope you enjoy this coin design, as I have enjoyed seeing Captain "Brock" and his Engine 11 at the many fires here in New Orleans back in the "good ole" days.As always, shipping for first coin is $3.95, then only $1 per coin extra for additional coins purchased at the same time shipped to same address.
