Condition:Very good. There is a "notch" on one end of the curved silver pieces. I never noticed it until I was taking pictures. So, while it might stand out like a soar thumb in the images, its hardly noticeable. Please, look at the images as I consider them as part of the description.

Design:This is a beautiful silver belt buckle. Its proportions are perfect - it's not too thick and not too thin. It has a great finish and patina to it, and the stone is the perfect focal point for it. There's a gentle curve to it's overall shape, making it very comfortable to wear.
This design is based on the Ketoh. Ketohs were leather wrist bands worn by Navajo archers to protect themselves from getting snapped by the bow string as they shot an arrow. The Ketohs were embellished with designs. The usefulness of these wristbands eventually became fashion, first worn as leather and eventually evolving to include silver.Hózh;ó is the Navajo's ideal of balance, order, and harmony. The word means, "Beauty". Hózh;óis represented in art, including jewelry, through balance and symmetry around a centralized focal point, like in the design of this buckle. The center stone represents the bud of a plant with the broad and raised silver curves emanating from its center its branches. In perfect symmetry, they reach to the four corners of the design. These silver curves (with tapered ends)are perfectly proportioned for the overall size of the buckle. This buckle isn't at all bulky: It's substantial and yet elegant and alive with movement and flow.Thank you for looking.Email with any questions or comments. And please, check out my other items I have for sale......
