Dr. Willie Moseley Estate: Thank you for looking at thesewonderful autographs andstamps from theestate of the late Dr. Willie Moseley from Greenwood South Carolina. His massive original autographs were so impressive to view and his stampcollection was just as massive and he kept all of his autographs and stamps inpristine condition. Many people came to offer on his items and I was very happyto get a few from his collections.
ADDED NOTE 8/21/18
I became curious about this Mr. (Professor at William & Mary College,Norfolk Division) William W. Seward from where many of Dr. Moseley’s autographscame. Prof. Seward was a TRUE autograph collector and tried to collect the bestof the mid-century literature names. Professor Seward wrote a book and it ismentioned on occasion in some of the letters/notes returned to him from thesegreat authors he had written to for their autographs that they wished to read“His” book. The name of his book was “SKIRTS of the DEAD NIGHT”. I decided thatI must find a copy and read it for myself after many of those great authors hereached out to wanted to read his book. So with the help of a very learned anddedicated Reference Assistant, Caroline F., at my library found a copy and of courseit was located at William & Mary and V.P.I. Norfolk Division Library. I wasso excited to get it. It is a small book but full of “WHO DONE IT” mystery. Thechapters were described with vivid descriptions of the surroundings so that Icould see this Noir thriller book in full black and white in my mind. It was agood read for a first novel; I think his only novel? I did have the “who doneit” solved by page 79 (of 158 pages) but I was not yet sure just how thevillain would be caught so that held my interest even more. I enjoyed the bookand have enjoyed these autographs. The last date on the back cover of the “Due Date”page of the book was dated Mar.20 1978. Now my mind wonders to think what thosegreat authors thought of his book as they all seemed very pleased that he “theProfessor at William & Mary” would use their books in his classroomteachings. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall for a few of this is a great autograph to frame with it's flare for detail and subject matter. it is in very good collectible condition. it measures standard 11x8 1/2". there is mentionof three of his books. thank you for looking and please see all my autographs in my store.
