The Levallois technique(IPA: [lə.va.lwa]) is a name given by archaeologists to a distinctive type of stone knapping developed around 250,000 to 300,000 years ago during the Middle Palaeolithic period. It is part of the Mousterian stone tool industry, and was used by the Neanderthals in Europe and by modern humans in other regions such as the Levant.[1]It is named after 19th-century finds of flint tools in the Levallois-Perret suburb of Paris, France. The technique was more sophisticated than earlier methods of lithic reduction, involving the striking of lithic flakes from a prepared lithic core. A striking platform is formed at one end and then the core\'s edges are trimmed by flaking off pieces around the outline of the intended lithic flake. This creates a domed shape on the side of the core, known as a tortoise core, as the various scars and rounded form are reminiscent of a tortoise\'s shell. When the striking platform is finally hit, a lithic flake separates from the lithic core with a distinctive plano-convex profile and with all of its edges sharpened by the earlier trimming work. This method provides much greater control over the size and shape of the final flake which would then be employed as a scraper or knife although the technique could also be adapted to produce projectile points known as Levallois points. Scientists consider the Levallois complex to be a Mode 3 technology, as a result of its diachronic variability. This is one level superior to the Acheulean complex of the Lower Paleolithic. ancient tool art is made from Gold Rich NEVADA Jasperoid/Onyx, and contains trace amounts of silver and gold as assayed in per 20 samples, AU .50//OZ/TON. AG 1.50/0Z/TON
Chemical Composition: 99.9 percent quartz, trace amounts of, gold, silver, copper, montmorillonite, and allophane. They feel so damn good to hold. They have an energy, a warmth and a life. They are so smooth they literally jump out of your hand, unless of course you hold them the way they were meant to be held. The genius of the these ancient stone masters is that nomatter what size your hand or what kind of tool, they will magically fit perfectly into your hand, (by exploring and rotating different hand holds) and will give you the feeling of knowing exactly how the tool was used, as though each tool is an extension of your hand.
In addition each tool has precision variability that allows the tools to act in a multifunctional capacity. Like a 7 in one tool.
It’s suggested that these levallois style tools, that because they are older and less elegant, that they were then far less technologically advanced. The more I work with them, the more it\'s obvious that these are the most advanced tools, the beginning, and the knowledge and technology have declined ever since. I am excited to share these masterful inventions with therest of the world, from a part of the world where they should not exist, and I\'m so happy youtook the time to read these words dear truth is out there.
