t’s amazing the fascination that so many collectors have for the clocks made by the late Elmer Stennes of Weymouth Massachusetts. By now his story is well known to collectors and the tragic events in his life and the lives of his family members. This isa 100% original clock. Some of the features thatdefine his work during the 1950’s includethe use of the parts from the E. Howard & Co. finished/completed as a working timepiece and die stamped with E. Howard & Co. The cast lead weight with the Stennes die stamp, cast lead pendulum bob with brass spike with cast “S" initial, andtheframes/case parts/dial are die stamped 6. The bottom board is stamped "6" for clock number "6" and another "6" indicating 1956. All of the beautiful cast brass hardware and finial all made from patterns fabricated by Elmer, and you may not realize that he was a “pattern” maker in the 1940’s and worked in the coastal shipyards and learned this trade at that time. You can also witness he numbered frames designating the number of the clock. The heavy iron dial pan is hand painted and signed by Stennes. The reverse glass geometric paintings are untouched and original. The clock measures 34 inches overall. S/H/I is fixed at $ 150 and the weight will be removed/wrapped/packed in a separate box. The clock will be sent via Air USPS Priority Mail. I am an excellent packer/shipper. Of course you are welcome to stop by and pick up the clock in person if you like at no charge.
