Identification on the back stateshis name, rank, and that he ran the blockade at Mobile Alabama and later died of Yellow Fever.

"Lt. John Maxwell STRIBLING, (1835-Sept. 1862)was the youngest son of Rear Adm.
Cornelius Kincheloe STRIBLING and his first wife Mary Helen Marie
Yellow fever caused his death.
John Maxwell Stribling
Resigned from US Navy in 1861.He ran the blockade at Mobile AL on Sept.10,1862
He died on board the Florian Cruiser.His cousin Robert Trimmier visited him for
4 wks before he died and helped bury John Maxwell.John Maxwell died at age 27.
