Church Bell Meneely & Kimberly Founders Troy NY 1877:
One church bell. Meneely & Kimberly Founders Troy, N. Y. 1877
The over all size of the frame of the with bell is; 42" high, 38" wide and 32" wide. The bell is; 28" high, 14" upper diameter and 26 1/2" lower diameter. These dimensions are approximately. The lever part is broken off and was that way when I purchased the bell. There is a picture with the broken part and the original bolts that came with the bell. The piece that is broken off can be welded. The bell has a nice ring. It is sitting in my front yard. It is very heavy and it took four men to just move the bell. We used 2" x 6" boards to move it
If you are the high buyer you will have to "Pick Up" the bell.
The "Meneely & Kimberly Company" operated from 1869-1879. The company then became "The Clinton H Meneely Bell Company". The "Meneely & Kimberly" cast the "Centennial Bell". The 13,000 pound replacement for the "Liberty Bell". This bell was installed in the tower of Independence Hall in Philadelphia to be rung for the first time on July 4, 1876.
