Back Issues, "Air Pictorial," Quality UK Aviation Periodical, 6 issues fm 1955.:
Quality aviation enthusiast magazine from the UK. It is the Gazette of "Air Britain" and the Air Reserves. Six issues from 1955, of great historical significance as they show the debate in Europe and the US over the future of manned interceptors, in the face of ever faster bombers. With the huge advances in guided weapons - was this the answer instead of fighters? I might equally have placed this in the "aircraft modeling" section, because the detailed articles and lavish photographs are a true treasure for the aircraft modeler. Each edition has around 40-50 pages, packed with aviation stories, photographs and facts. Some editions have the original owner's name written on the cover and two have rather rough dust jackets. I have listed the big articles for each edition below, but this only scratches the surface and there are many "Air News" and "air spotter" features that are repeated monthly and contain fascinating facts that we've all forgotten. I would like to sell the issues as a single item but, within reason, I am willing to split, although each magazine might cost a few cents more on aggregate, both in cost and shipping.
