Antique etchingfolio print on paperdating to circa 1847. Condition is good for a print of this age with slight foxing. slight soiling, and a slight ghost impression of text from the book this was once bound in. Printing process is a copper plate stipple engraving.Blank margins are approximately as shown and print is full plate. Print is from an old incomplete art book. Overall size is approximately 5.5 inches by 8.75 inches with image size being approximately3.5 inches by4 inches. Image size was measured on the portrait only.Blank on the back. Rivery is the engraver. Print reads " Antony Ashley Cooper. Earl of Shaftsbury, Pub. June 1, 1803, by J. Scott, No. 447 Strand. I believe this is a circa 1847 restrike of the 1803 plate. .
