ANTIQUE 18TH CENTURY SCOTTISH TALL CASE GRANDFATHER CLOCK:
Outstanding and rare Georgian 18th Century Scottish Tall Case Grandfather Clock.The dial is signed with a name and Carnwath.Located between Edinburgh and Glasgow, the ancient one street village with a ruined castle.This marvelous clock would have been custom made for a wealthy farmer, proud of his rural heritage.
Beautiful mahogany and walnut large case with an amazing hand painted face.Looks like the case is walnut with mahogany front veneer.The face painted with a sceneries of four seasons and Scottish country side with a man plowing.Quality of paintings just wonderful.
Overall condition of the case is very good with some missing and repair veneer and repaired corner of the front door.The face condition is also good with some rubbed offs, slightly faded paint and missing top small arm.It comes with two weights, pendulum and a crank key.The clock is working except the pendulum suspension spring attachment is broken but easily can be fixed or replaced.
This is a very important and impressive antique Scottish Grandfather clock and can enhance any collections of the Tall Clocks or just be a stunning addition the your home.
